After crooning the popular number 'Iski Uski' in 2 STATES, singer Akriti Kakkar is now gearing up for her first Bengali-Hindi single. She says, "I am currently working on Hindi-Bengali single that will be launched somewhere in June-July."

Interestingly, it will be a Bengali folk song; however a new version is rendered around it.

"Yes it is an old Bengali folk song. It's extremely beautiful and we have composed a new version around it," shares the singer.

Joy Sarkar, the noted playback singer and composer in Tollywood, who co-judged 'Sa Re Ga Ma' on Zee Bangla along with Akriti, has composed the song. Joy will come all the way to Mumbai today to record the song.

Says Akriti, "Joy Sarkar, who is highly popular and respected in Bengal, is composing the song. While Manoj Yadav, who wrote songs for Coke Studio, Akshay Kumar's BOSS, Nagesh Kukunoor's LAKSHMI, has penned the lyrics. Manoj is like an elder brother to me."

Akriti, who has had a special connection with Bengalis all her life, is quite elated to launch her single which will cater to both the regions.

"I am happy that I am striking a perfect balance by launching single in both Hindi-Bangla regions, as I have good fan-following in both the areas. Initially when I started out here I used to think whether they will accept me or not being a non-Bengali. But they are such huge lovers of music. Bengali market is very emotional about their culture and tradition. And I am overwhelmed by their treatment and feel even more responsible," says the singer on a parting note.
