2NE1 cancels "Running Man"

7 July – South Korean girl group 2NE1 who was previously slated to appear on the popular SBS variety show "Running Man", have decided to cancel their appearance.

According to Kpopstarz, their agency YG Entertainment has decided to leave the girls out of the show as they will be busy preparing for their upcoming tour.

The rep also explained that despite their sassy attitude and fierce performances on stage, Park Bom, Minzy, CL and Dara are actually introverts that are not fit for variety shows.

Representatives of the agency stated, "The members of 2NE1 are honestly very shy and lack the skills to be on variety shows. We're actually worried that they will not be entertaining enough for the show."

They added, "2NE1 will be focusing on the release of their single, "I Love You", not to mention their world tour. They don't even have time to take a breath at the moment."

Earlier, Dara also mentioned in an interview, "Unlike how people see us on TV, we're introverts that don't talk much. It takes a lot of effort out of us to go on talk shows."

Park Bom added, "Talk shows are pressuring for us, but I do think a variety show that doesn't require scripts could be fun."

2NE1 will be making their first stage comeback on 8 July through SBS' "Inkigayo".
