Aishwarya Rai to support charities for AIDS

18 May – Shortly after her new status as a mother, Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai is ready to get back to her social work and will be supporting several charities for AIDS while she is in Cannes.

According to Masala, the 38-year-old actress would be attending a dinner party for the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR), a world leading non-profit organization that supports research for HIV prevention, treatment, education, and an advocate of AIDS-related policies.

Rai said to reporters that she was proud to be representing India at the film festival for the 11th time and to raise funds for the prevention and awareness of AIDS.

Rai would be attending the dinner party alongside with her counterparts from Hollywood such as Alec Baldwin, Diane Keaton, Berenice Benjo and Mila Jovovich.
