BiS completes 24 hour promo event

31 Jul – Unorthodox Japanese idol group Brand-New idol Society (BiS) has made a new precedent for promotional events, after they had successfully endured 24 hours of non-stop activities for the release of their major debut single "PPCC".

According to Tokyo Hive, BiS held a promotional event for the single at the Don Quijote Shinjuku store from 20 July to 21 July, switching between performing and handshake events with fans in hourly intervals, without any breaks in between.

Their event attracted some 100 to 200 fans to the location, but as word started spreading of their endurance test, it overcrowded the store with some 300 people, including non-fans, music lovers and industry insiders.

BiS later decided to shake things up a bit by switching their handshake events with sessions for hitting attendees in the butt with baseball bats, intimate hugs and 'pero-pero, chu-chu' (licking and kissing).

They also performed a total of more than a 100 hundred songs throughout the event.

It is estimated that more 5,000 people had attended by the event of the event, and drew more than 50,000 viewers who watched the event via live stream on Nico Nico Nama Housou.
