Carina Lau worries about her upcoming stage play

2 Jul – The usually calm and collected Carina Lau recently confessed that she has been a nervous wreck since being involved in the upcoming high-profile stage production, "Tonnochy".

According to Hong Kong's On CC News, the actress revealed that she has been stressing out about the show, the theatre settings, as well as the rehearsals, to a point that she now suffers from insomnia.

"I went for a health check-up recently when I realised how stressful I was. Sometimes I would get agitated, or I would feel nauseous and get sick," said Carina.

The actress added that most of her time has been spent thinking and rehearsing her lines. She had also quit alcohol for the time being so that she can concentrate more on her performance.

"A stage production is very different from film," said Carina. "You have to be immersed in the role and be on standby every minute and every second."

She was also full of praises for her co-star and respected theatre actor, Gardner Tse, saying, "He can get into character almost immediately, unlike me and [co-star] Tony Leung [Kar Fai]."

Set in a club, "Tonnochy" tells the story of three people - a stock market player (Gardner Tse), introverted banker (Tony Leung Kar Fai), and his widow (Carina Lau), who comes looking for answers following the mysterious death of her husband.
