Chinese National Park confirms suing "Transformers"

9 Jul – After much consideration, representatives of China's UNESCO World Heritage site, the Wulong Karst National Park, recently confirmed their decision to take legal action against Hollywood's Paramount Pictures and its Chinese partners.

As reported on CRI News, the announcement was made at a press conference held on 8 July, where Wulong park's representative from the Chongqing Wulong Karst Tourism Co. Ltd. said that the company would file a suit at a court in Chongqing city which demands unspecified damages for direct and indirect economic loss against Paramount Pictures and one of its partners, Beijing-based 1905 Internet Technology Company.

According to the representative, Wulong Park had invested a huge amount of money to be promoted in the film, but they were not clearly identified, as producers had failed to show their logo prominently in the movie as promised.

The scenic spot of Wulong Park was also interspersed with scenes from Hong Kong, making it unclear for viewers to see the actual location, which is much further from Hong Kong than it seemed.

Paramount Pictures has yet to comment on the legal suit at the time of writing.
