Chris Golightly sued by former girlfriend

23 Apr – Former Mnet "Superstar K3" contestant Chris Golightly seemed to not be able to shake off controversies, and this time, it's a lawsuit from a former girlfriend.

According to Allkpop website, a representative from the Seoul Songpa Police Department revealed, "Chris Golightly has been sued by a person only identified as, 'A', for charges of fraud and intimidation."

They continued saying, "It was alleged that Chris Golightly borrowed around KRW 32,000,000 (approx. USD 28,000) from 'A', which he never paid back."

Instead of paying his debt, Golightly sent a threatening text message to 'A' saying, "If you sue me, I won't let you get away with it."

The police determined that despite their belief that his actions were enough to warrant an arrest, the court dismissed the application for a warrant.

They commented, "We are worried he could commit a retaliatory crime, so now we are proceeding with the investigation with reinforcements. However, since he is an American citizen, if he leaves the country, the investigation cannot continue; therefore, they have placed a restriction on him from leaving the country."

Earlier, the former "American Idol" contestant was involved in a controversy when several fans from his fan cafe claimed that he had sexually harassed them and threatened to sue for causing them mental distress. He denied the allegations, citing "cultural difference" as the reason behind it.
