"Cold War" selected as 17th BFF opening movie

14 Sep – It's an exciting moment for the cast and crew of Hong Kong crime thriller, "Cold War" as the movie was selected to be the opening film for the 17th Busan International Film Festival, as reported on China.org.

"Cold War", directed by Longman Leung and Sunny Luk and stars talented actors including Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung, Andy Lau and Aarif Lee is set in a hostage crisis with the police and thieves outwitting each other. The movie is also the first Hong Kong film to be selected as the opening film of the festival, deemed one of the biggest film festivals in Asia.

The two directors enthused, "We were very surprised with the news and were not aware of the nomination until a few days ago."

Meanwhile, Aaron Kwok and Tony Leung believed that the selection is only a beginning and it will serve as a promotion for the film, attracting more people to come and watch it when it releases in cinemas starting 18 October.

In related news, The 17th Busan International Film Festival will run from 4 to 13 October and the opening ceremony will be hosted by Chinese actress Tang Wei.
