Crystal Huang and Huo Siyan go to court
10 May – The ugly relationship spat between Chinese actresses Crystal Huang and Huo Siyan seems to be getting uglier, now that they are bound to attend a legal hearing over the derogatory remarks that Siyan posted online regarding Crystal.
According to JayneStars, 31-year-old Siyan and 33-year-old Crystal would be seeing each other in court after the latter had sued the former for posting three defamatory remarks about her on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo.
In the remarks, Siyan, who has been rumored to be a third party in Crystal's marriage, had insinuated Crystal to be a "spitfire celebrity wife" and that banker Jiang Kai is a "fat, oily husband". The couple divorced back in June 2010.
A letter from Crystal's lawyers was served to Siyan requesting that she remove these remarks online, although Siyan claimed that she had not received said letters, which is why the remarks were still up.
As the remarks would impact her reputation negatively, Crystal decided to sue the "My Name is Fame" star to have the court order her to remove the remarks, apologise publicly on Weibo and cover the litigation expenses.
Considering that the two stars would be divulging many private and sensitive testimonies during the legal proceedings, it would not be a public hearing.
