Cyndi Wang: "I'm Not the Third Party"

10 May – Taiwanese singer and actress Cyndi Wang has finally broken her silence over allegations that she has been putting a wedge in the relationship between Taiwanese actress Sonia Sui and actor Yao Yuan Hao.

According to Asian Bite, Wang refuted claims that she was the third party in their relationship when Sui implied to the media that Yao was seeing someone else, after they had broken up for the third time in February this year.

"I am not the third party! I have never come between them," said a tearful Wang during a press conference recently.

"I have also been viciously hurt by a third party before, I would never have let myself be a third party in someone else's relationship," she defended herself. Although Wang and Yao were previously an item, her name did not crop up the in the list of suspects until she had posted up a photo on her Weibo account, which had a plate that was identical to one in Yao's home.

Wang explained that the photo was taken in May last year, when she and some friends were at his house to make some desserts.

She admitted that she dated Yao his second break-up with Sui in February 2011 but it ended when the actor wanted to reconcile with Sui in August of the same year.

"In August last year, when I knew he was getting back together [with Sui], I told myself to take back my heart [from Yao] as it is also a way of fulfilling his wish," Wang explained.

However, when reporters started pressing Wang if she is now seeing the 30-year-old Yao after his most recent break-up with Sui, she refused to answer and broke down in tears.

Her manager replied, "She is not dating Yao."
