Dayo Wong to star in a new comedy
21 Apr – It was revealed that TVB comedy actor Dayo Wong will be starring in a new comedy, "Cheung Po Tsai" alongside Ronald Cheng and Gordon Chan.
As reported on HK Channel, Dayo reportedly has been selected to replace original cast member Louis Koo, who had to withdraw from the film due to his conflicting schedule.
Playing a role of a funny pirate in the new HKD 80 million-budgeted project, this will be Dayo's first grand production and thus, the actor, who originally planned to spend the year preparing for his stand-up comedy tour at the end of the year, decided to take on the project despite his hectic schedule.
When asked about Dayo's involvement in the project, his manager May stated, "Dayo accepted the role because he is good friends with both Gordon and Ronald. They asked him to help, so he arranged his schedule to make it happen."
May stated that the filming will not affect his stand-up comedy as it will only be done in a half-month's time, though added that Dayo will absolutely not take on any more projects after "Cheung Po Tsai".
Meanwhile, it was revealed that former TVB actress Fala Chen will also be joining the cast, replacing the original choice, Shu Qi who also had to turn down the project due to her busy schedule.
"Cheung Po Tsai" is scheduled to begin filming in Guangzhou at the end of April.
