Edison dropped from Evisu campaign due to unprofessional behaviour

13 Apr – It was revealed that Japanese denim brand Evisu had recently terminated Edison Chen's contract as its model and spokesperson prematurely, and stressed that the company will never work with the actor again.

According to HK Channel, Evisu had signed a HKD 800,000 (approx. USD 103,169) contract with the controversial actor back in 2012, but reportedly had enough of Edison's rude behaviour and unwillingness to cooperate.

It was rumoured that the two sides have had disagreements since early into their collaboration.

A source from the company alleged that Edison once refused to do a photo shoot when Evisu turned down his idea of using his own photographer and production company for the project. He also arrived late for an event in Shanghai back in 2013 and left before the event ended.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Edison failed to confirm his schedule for an Evisu event which will be held in May and told the company that he has to fly to the United States that month. He also asked for a first class ticket if Evisu wants him to join the event.

Meanwhile, another report stated that the actor also did not honour his contract by endorsing another jeans brand in mainland China.

After the contract termination, it was revealed that the denim brand had replaced Edison with Pakho Chau and has signed a hefty HKD 2.4 million (USD 309,549) contract with the singer instead.
