Ekin Cheng admits to share similarities with new movie character
3 Jul – Hong Kong actor Ekin Cheng revealed that he does resemble his character in the upcoming film, "Breakup 100".
As reported on Mingpao News, the actor, who attended the movie's press conference in Beijing alongside director Lawrence Cheng and co-star Chrissie Chau, stated that he shares some similarities with his character in the movie, which was depicted as a yes-man to Chrissie's more dominant character.
He said, "For example, I am very much like a child in real life, and need others to take care of me."
"But then again, two people in love should rely on each other," he continued. "A woman should complete his shortcomings and a man should satisfy her needs. Love should come first before reason, as a lot of relationship matters can't be explained with reason."
In regards to the 'strong woman versus weak man' theme of the movie, Ekin said it is now a common phenomenon for women to be stronger than men.
"Women in society now become stronger as they are more capable and have more control. Thus, men become weaker in comparison. But in a relationship, a stronger person is not always right and the weak is not always wrong. It's hard to tell," he said.
