14 Aug – New reports have surfaced that Hong Kong actress Fala Chen may have irked her record company, Rising Star Music, resulting in the abrupt termination of her singing career.

According to Jayne Stars, insiders had revealed that Fala Chen and the CEO of Rising Star Music, Herman Ho did not get along very well, which could explain the lack of promotion for Chen's first and last album "Beautiful Life".

"Fala tends to stick to her own position. For example, Herman likes it when his artists 'kiss up' to him and attend his dinner parties, but Fala never went to dinner with him. That's why when Fala told Herman that she wanted to sing other songs besides Karaoke-friendly songs, Herman didn't give her any, and purposely chose re-written Mandarin songs for her to sing," said an insider.

"Fala also called Herman superstitious by publicly pointing out that he only wears black and white," the insider added.

Another insider also revealed that Fala had angered Herman by saying that he had bad taste in music, when none of her songs made it into the music charts. This made Herman decided not to promote her album, and Fala had to do it on her own through her Weibo and other social media sites.
