Feng Xiaogang returns to acting through "Fading Wave"

19 Dec – Chinese director Feng Xiaogang will be making an acting comeback as the lead in Guan Hu's new movie, "Fading Wave".

As reported on CRI News, the director, who is well-known for his works such as "Assembly", "Aftershock", and "Personal Tailor", last played a lead character in the comedy "Father", directed by Wang Shuo, which won the best film award at the Swiss Locarno International Film Festival in 2000.

His last acting work was 2012's "The Monkey King: Uproar in Heaven".

In "Fading Wave", Feng will be playing the role of an old gangster who finds that he is no longer influential in Beijing.

When asked why he decided to do the film, the 56-year-old director said that he was attracted to the script.
