Ge You awarded French Chevalier medal

22 Apr – "Personal Tailor" actor Ge You is the latest Chinese actor to be presented with the Chevalier medal in the Order of Arts and Letters from the French government as a part of the opening ceremony of the 11th French Film Panorama.

According to People Daily, Ge You, who is also the ambassador of the Panorama, was awarded with the medal for his outstanding contribution in cinema by the President of the National Film and Moving Image Centre (CNC), Frédérique Bredin in Beijing.

"Ge You has brilliantly interpreted the complexity of the soul through his movie roles, and have left a deep impression with the audiences," said Bredin.

Meanwhile, the actor, who wore the same attire he had at the Cannes Film Festival more than 20 years ago to receive the honour, humorously commented, "Receiving this medal is a great honour for me and I had put on the clothes I wore 20 years ago as a respect. But now, the pants are a little tight!"

Ge You now joins the likes of other Chinese actors and filmmakers who were awarded with the medal, including actress Zhou Xun, Zhang Ziyi and Liu Ye.
