Gillian Chung won't avoid fans for her own safety sake

2 Jun – Hong Kong singer-actress Gillian Chung recently revealed that she will be flying to Beijing on 18 June to promote her new album. According to Singpao, despite the recent violence that has been rising in China, Gillian said that it will not stop her from attending the press conference to reveal her new album as well as the premiere of her album's micro movie.

When asked if she is worried about her safety, Gillian replied, "My mum told me to ask [my manager] Mani to hire several bodyguards to ensure my safety!"

In regards to the incident where two members of Japanese group AKB48 were attacked by a saw-wielding man during a fan meeting, Gillian said that though it worried her, she can't avoid her fans for fear of such an attack.

When asked if she would hire her own personal bodyguards, Gillian joked, "This is not L.A., bodyguards are expensive. My salary is not enough to pay their fees!"
