Halina Tam opens second branch of snack shops

20 Apr – Former beauty queen Halina Tam, who has turned to a small business after leaving TVB, will now be opening a second branch of her snack shop.

As reported on HK Channel, the 1994 Miss Hong Kong who left TVB back in 2011 after a series of unsuccessful attempts in showbiz, opened a craft supplies store and a small snack shop in Causeway Bay last year.

Unlike her glamorous self when she was once a TVB artiste, the 41-year-old former TV personality has now opted for a simpler style to enable her to do her work at ease.

While talking about her new business, Harlina attributed her small success to her mother, saying, "My mum used to be a street hawker selling pyjamas, so she really knows what the customer wants."

She added that her mother also helps her season the sauces and ask the customers for feedback so that they can make changes.

"Snack shops really have to rely on quality and service. We're very strict with our food quality," the former "Trimming Success" actress stated.

She also admitted that her little snack shop has been making quite a profit, that she is able to open her second snack shop.

"We have taste-tested all the products for a whole month before we opened so that we would sell only the best," she enthused.
