Imade Mai to graduate from SKE48

27 Apr – Research student Imade Mai would be graduating from SKE48 at the end of May.

According to Tokyo Hive, her graduation was announced at the end of the SKE48 research student performance at the SKE48 theatre on 23 April.

Imade revealed the reason for her graduation was due to a leg injury that has the potential risk of developing into a stress fracture, if she continued dancing.

"I've been thinking about it for some time now. If fans asked me questions regarding which path I will take, I wouldn't be able to answer it, so I may be deceiving the fans."

"Whenever I thought that, my heart ached and it made me think that I have to let everyone know as soon as possible," said the 18-year-old, who first joined SKE48 in 2009.

She intends to further her studies abroad and begin a career in acting when she returns to Japan.

Imade was a third generation member when she passed the audition in 2009 and since then has been participating in the group's activities as a research student.
