20 May – Japanese actress Inoue Waka wants a wedding ring, now that she is happily married to film director Iizuka Ken.

According to Tokyo Hive, Inoue, who married on her 31st birthday, said that the newly wedded couple had not been able to find time to search for their wedding band since their marriage, let alone hold a wedding ceremony.

"I don't have a ring. I don't need an engagement ring. I do want a wedding ring, but we've been so busy..." said Inoue in her first public appearance after her marriage at an opening ceremony for an online fashion site recently.

When asked about her wedding plans, she said: "We don't have any plans. Is it lonesome? Recently, my friend held a wedding overseas and I'm envious, but I just don't have the time. I hope to hold one someday."

Married life does not seem all that different for Inoue but she is looking forward to having a peaceful family with her husband.

"It's only been 3 days since we got married, so it doesn't seem real to me yet. We've been living together for a long time, so there's no differences in our lifestyle. However, the trivial things make me happy. Like eating together and waking up beside him," Inoue said.

She added: "He's a person I respect. I thought he was wonderful for working so hard. Before I realized it, we were together. I want us to be an ordinary husband and wife. I want a normal and calm family."

Speaking of children, Inoue insisted that she was not pregnant but hoped that 'the day will come someday'.

Inoue and Iizuka married on May 13 after a year of romance, which blossomed after they had first met while they worked on "Arakawa Under the Bridge" in March last year. The pair maintained a professional relationship at first and only started dating after the production a couple months later.
