Irene Wan to produce and star in new movie

2 Aug – "May We Chat" actress Irene Wan revealed that her production company is currently developing a new movie which will begin filming in October.

According to Mingpao News, the actress, who held her 48th birthday party recently, stated that the new movie, "Love of Shangri-La", was written by the director solely for her.

"I will be playing a character who goes through ten years of her life, from her youth to life after marriage," said Christine. "The new character resembles me very much."

In regard to the lead actor, Irene said that she would most probably find a mainland actor or a new face, as most of her former co-stars now charge a huge fee.

"This film has a small budget, so we can't afford to pay that much," she said.

Meanwhile, when asked about her birthday wish, Irene, who prepared several charity donation boxes outside during her birthday party, stated, "Most of my wishes have already come true, like establishing my studio and helping more children with medical issues."
