Jackie Chan announces new movie project

21 Apr – Despite having several acting projects currently in line for 2014 and 2015, action superstar Jackie Chan recently revealed that he will be starring in another project, a historical epic titled "Dragon Blade".

As reported on CRI, the actor recently made the announcement at the press conference of the movie which was held in Beijing on 17 April.

The movie, which will be helmed by Daniel Lee of "Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of Dragon" fame, is said to also star a Hollywood A-list actor, though both Jackie and Daniel remained discreet about the identity of the star.

According to Jackie, the movie will tell the story of Roman soldiers lost in ancient China and will have a lot of action scenes.

"I have been preparing for the movie for more than seven years. I was inspired to make this film from seeing the documented evidence of the Romans' existence and Roman ruins in Liqian village in northwest China's Gansu province during the Han Dynasty."

The movie will also possess a record-breaking budget for China's film industry, with over USD 320 million invested by the Beijing Cultural Assets Chinese Film & Television Fund, Huayi Brothers and Shanghai Film Group.

The movie is scheduled to release for Lunar New Year 2015.
