Jet Li promised every cent he earned to his wife
8 Feb – Married for 14 years to second wife, beauty queen Nina Li, martial arts star Jet Li revealed that he had his own method in courting the Miss Asia 1986 back in the days.
According to Yesky, while recording an episode of "Amazing Chinese", a mainland reality talent programme, the usually private actor shared his method of courtship with one of the contestant, after the latter revealed his intention to propose to his girlfriend.
Jet Li revealed, "Courting my wife was quite a challenge. She had a lot of male fans and I was the least outstanding among them all. It was pointless to be good at martial arts when it's related to love."
"The Expendables" star revealed that he won Nina's heart by a simple promise, saying, "From now on, I will give you every single cent that I earn!"
Jet Li revealed that his willingness to give up his assets for her love proved to Nina that he is loyal and committed to her, and the actress finally agreed to marry him in 1999.
