Jinbo Remixes SNSD′s ′Gee′ into Sexytime Music

Girls′ Generation′s hit song Gee may have come out over three years ago (does that make you feel old?), but it′s still one of K-Pop′s biggest hits - so it′s no wonder that fans and artists alike are still remixing the piece.

But this time around, it′s not just a simple acoustic or dance cover.

Jinbo the SuperFreak, the Korean singer/producer who′s been featured on Epik High albums, has released an entirely new take on Gee, titled Damn (Girls′ Generation′s Gee Revisited).

The remix is described as a ′salacious re-interpretation of the Girls′ Generation hit Gee′, with ′sexually charged lyrics′, which means the ultimate K-Pop song is no longer rated G – so kids, listen to this with your headphones on, unless you don’t mind your parents overhearing lyrics that are far more explicit than ‘Gee gee gee gee, baby baby baby’.

And it’s not the only K-Pop song that Jinbo has taken on. His upcoming mixtape, KRNB (pronounced Korean-B), consists entirely of K-Pop remixes, and will be available for free download on August 29.

For KRNB, Jinbo takes on tracks from old school K-pop artists like Seo Taiji and Boys and Deux, to (relatively) new acts like 2NE1, Big Bang′s Taeyang and BoA.

"Some of the songs, I remixed and left only the lyrics the same, and others I chose to tell the story with the music only. Truthfully, with lyrics, you can probably communicate the story better, but even without lyrics, the beats can give you an idea of what’s going on too," said Jinbo.

The mixtape will be available for download on jinbo.bandcamp.com on August 29, while you can listen to or download Damn (Girls′ Generation′s Gee Revisited) at soundcloud.com/jinbosoul now.
