Justin Lee surrenders to police
28 Aug - Taiwanese socialite and fugitive Justin Lee has surrendered himself to police after he had gone missing from the public eye for almost a month, in the wake of his sex scandal for allegedly drugging and raping 60 models and celebrities.
According to Jayne Stars, the illegitimate heir to the former director of Yuanta Financial Holdings contacted police at around 4pm on 23 August, telling them of his intentions to turn himself in. After his identity was ascertained by the authorities, he was instructed to surrender himself at a police station in Taipei.
A haggard Justin, evidently dressed in the same blue jeans and long black sleeves for days, appeared at the police station with his lawyers at around 8.30pm, and had to be escorted into the station by officers when awaiting reporters recognised him.
The police later held a press conference about Justin's arrest, who also wanted a certain 'Ms. Chan' to be taken into custody with him, but whose relationship with the socialite and connection with his case is uncertain. The police said that a press conference would be called once they have ascertained the relationship of 'Ms. Chan' with Justin.
Meanwhile, the husband of Dee Hsu, Mike Hsu, issued a press statement denying that he had given Justin money during his disappearance and claimed not to have known him on friendly terms. He also denied knowing the relationship between Justin and the 'Ms. Chan'.
