Kevin Cheng angered by abortion rumour
11 May – Recently, the rumour that Kevin Cheng had accompanied singer Linda Wong, his ex-girlfriend, to have an abortion 18 years ago which in turn, had ruined her future chances for a natural pregnancy had surfaced, and this riled up the Hong Kong singer-actor.
According to Jayne Stars, Cheng had slammed a tabloid magazine that has been circulating the rumour on a radio show for unethically fabricating an incident that could potentially destroy the marriage of the now married Wong.
"Linda is happily married right now. Please do not fabricate these types of rumours! These rumours can harm other people's lives and marriages! You cannot fabricate to this extent! There is no proof; they are all lies!" exclaimed Cheng.
After receiving the 2011 TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actor, the media have been dogging Cheng constantly, even going so far as to dig up Cheng's past exploits, which includes his infamous relationship with Wong, which was vehemently disapproved by Wong's father.
Although Cheng did not seem to mind the media bringing up his past relationships, his memories with Wong are an exception.
As Wong's name has been sullied due to the media's spotlight on him, Cheng tried to make amends by informing Wong about the rumour and advising her to have open communications with her husband, Stephen Lee, to avoid any misunderstandings.
"There are some things which are beyond my control. The most important thing right now is how to deal with the situation properly," added Cheng.
Meanwhile, Cheng also responded to allegations by actor Sin Ho Ying that the former behaved badly during the shoot for his latest drama, titled "Gloves Come Off".
"Perhaps during the interview, his words were twisted. I'm used to this!" said Cheng.
