25 Apr – Entertainer Kim Hyun-joong is entangled in a controversy surrounding the price of his fan meeting tickets that are deemed too expensive by fans.
As reported by Global Mnet website, the singer was criticised by Taiwanese fans as the tickets to his "2012 Kim Hyun-joong Asia Fan Meeting In Taiwan" are deemed expensive - being sold between KRW 30,000 (USD 27) to KRW 200,000 (USD 180).
On 20 April, a representative from Key East Management stated, "We are aware that there is some controversy surrounding the price of the tickets. But this fan meeting is different from all the others. Although it is called a fan meeting, it is on the same scale as a quality concert performance."
The rep continued saying that Kim Hyun-joong himself is actively participating in planning this fan meeting, "He has prepared 14 song performances for the fan meeting, and has prepared a high-five event where fans can win prizes he prepared himself."
The representative added that the star is unsettled at the controversy and plans to make an excellent event that will not disappoint the fans.
It was also reported that the tickets for this event were priced similarly to tickets for other Hallyu star fan meetings and was not an issue in Singapore or Hong Kong, where Kim Hyun-joong recently performed.
