Kis-My-Ft2 gains fourth consecutive top single

25 Aug – Japanese idol band Kis-My-Ft2's celebrated their first year anniversary with their fourth single "WANNA BEEEE!!! / Shake It Up" reaching the top of the Oricon charts, extending the band's record of top-selling singles.

According to Tokyo Hive, "WANNA BEEEE!!! / Shake It Up" sold 285,000 copies for the week of 27 August, being the fourth consecutive single from the group to reach the top of the Oricon weekly singles chart since their debut in August 2011.

The single was also the band's first single to sell more than 250,000 copies during its release week, and outsold their previous single "SHE! HER! HER!" by 92,000 copies.

"WANNA BEEEE!!!" is the opening theme song for TBS's "Beginners" drama series, which starred members Fujigaya Taisuke and Kitayama Hiromitsu, while "Shake It Up" was the theme song of Nihon TV's "Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou" drama series which ended in June.
