Kristal Tin leads new TVB drama

26 Feb – It was revealed that actress Kristal Tin is playing the Goosebump Woman in Lee Yim Fong's new costume drama-comedy of the same name, although it is currently still a working title.

Jayne Stars reported that on 21 February, a costume fitting press conference for the said series was held at TVB City. Among cast members that came were Roger Kwok, Jerry Lamb, Evergreen Mak, Priscilla Wong, Whitney Hui, Grace Wong, Rachel Kan, and Kristal Tin herself, wearing Qing Dynasty costumes.

The currently untitled 25-episode drama is set during the late 1700s Qing Dynasty and was loosely based on a short story from the classical Chinese novel, "Little Bean Shed", written by Qing Dynasty female novelist, Zeng Yandong.

The drama tells the story, a famous widowed female lawyer, known as the Goosebumps Woman, who lived during the Qing Dynasty. Skilled in solving cold cases, the Goosebumps Woman is also extremely skilful in writing, with her most expensive work cost over 100 silver taels per word.

Kristal Tin revealed that the role was a dream-come-true for her, as she had been hoping to portray a similar strong female character like the Goosebumps Woman.

Kristal will be shooting alongside Roger Kwok, who will also play a lawyer, and Evergreen Mak, who plays a court guard who is Kristal's initial love interest.
