Lee Hong-ki to replace Tony Ahn

2 Sept - It was revealed that FT Island's frontman Lee Hong-ki will be replacing Tony Ahn as MNet's "M! Countdown" host.

As reported on Kpopstarz, on 27 August, the show's programme director, Jung Yoo-jin announced, "The show will be revamped with Lee Hong-ki as its new emcee starting 30 August. We chose him for his interaction skills and his ability to make witty remarks."

The selection was also made due to Lee Hong-ki's global popularity, which is an important factor as the show is now being aired overseas.

This is not the singer's first time hosting. Lee already has various on-air experiences on music programmes and award shows.

Meanwhile, singer and former H.O.T member Tony Ahn is finally stepping down from "M! Countdown" after hosting the show for a year.
