Lee Hyori Confirms that She’s Getting Married with Lee Sang Soon

After a mess of confusion on whether she was getting married or not, Lee Hyori officially confirmed that she will tie the knot with boyfriend, Lee Sang Soong.

On July 4, Lee Hyori confirmed the news through her fancafe, Hyori Together.

“Going straight to the point, I am getting married. We only talked about September being a good time and we still haven’t told our parents,” wrote Lee Hyori. “Our parents have not met and we haven’t prepared invitations yet.”

On July 3, one news media reported that Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon created wedding invitations for a September wedding, but both sides did not officially announce the news, creating much confusion.

“After the wedding news went out, I saw that there were a lot of speculative articles as well as stories from people around us,” added Lee Hyori. “In the middle of all that, reporters visited our parents and close friends, causing harm to those people.”

“It’s an extremely personal matter and I was not ready yet. I wanted to make sure everything was confirmed before I could tell everyone with my own mouth, but as usual, it wasn’t easy,” said Lee Hyori. “I wanted to announce it in a beautiful manner when the time came, so I’m sorry to my fans. Since it happened the way it did, I will do my best in preparations.”

In an ending note, Lee Hyori promised to live happily and beautifully with her man and asked for blessings from the fans.

“For the fans who are not ready to let me go yet, shall we have some soju together? It’s a good thing my face isn’t on the bottles anymore. I love you.”

Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon began to grow feelings towards each other after working together on a song to help abandoned animals in July of 2011. With much in common like their affection towards animals and music styles, the two naturally became a couple.
