Linda Chung wants to devote more time to music career
16 Sep - TVB actress Linda Chung wants to devote more time to her music career that has been quiet for the past two years, now that she has learned how to handle the stress of being a singer and actress at the same time, according to Jayne Stars.
Since she won the Best Newcomer Award at the Jade Solid Gold Awards in 2008, Linda has been pressuring herself when performing because of the perception that she was more focused on her acting career than being a singer.
"As a singer who is from the television industry, I was afraid that people might think that I was only trying singing for fun and not serious about it, which is why I devoted wholeheartedly into music. I gave myself a lot of pressure. When I was on stage, my hands would shake and I would perform terribly," she said.
However, over the years, she has managed to overcome her stressful mentality of being a performer and is now trying to project a new image in her fourth album that is aiming for a year-end release this year.
"My mentality has changed a lot in these two days. I have become relaxed and smiled more often. Through the album, I hope to bring out my change and inject a positive energy. We have added colours and vibrancy in the new album, which were lacking in the past," said Linda, who has been working on the album such as the cover and costume design since she finished shooting for "Blissful Ferris Wheel".
She added: "Maybe I am older, I have understood that the words have to come within the heart. Just let nature takes its own course. It's more comfortable if you do not insist on certain things."
Still considering herself to be an inexperienced musician industry whom has been kept busy by her acting schedule, Linda also said that she hopes to learn more about being a singer from mainstream singers like Kelly Chen and Joey Yung.
"I really want to get to know Kelly Chen. I like her very much and she is very straightforward and direct when she speaks. I also want to talk to Joey Yung as she is very hardworking. She is very strong in her singing, dancing and creating a high energy atmosphere. I want to know how much efforts she has put in behind the scenes," she said.
