Ever heard the super-hit song Material Girl? Of course, you have! Often referred to as the ‘material girl’, after her hit song, Madonna, is a world famous American songwriter, dancer, singer, actress and entrepreneur. Born Madonna Louise Ciccone, she has 64 million certified albums to her credit, is a fab dancer, has acted in movies and has her own chain of merchandise, too.

Madonna has been named one of the 25 most powerful women of the past century by Time Magazine, and she has been featured in the book 100 Most Important Women of the 20th Century, published in 1998 by Ladies’ Home Journal, these being just a couple of accolades she’s earned over the past few decades.
Madonna, the musician: With multiple album hits to her credit, there is no doubt that she’s been a super successful music artist.
Madonna, the entrepreneur: A successful entrepreneur, the London Business School academics have called Madonna a ‘dynamic entrepreneur’ worth copying.
Madonna, the feminist: She’s not just a singer, entrepreneur, Madonna is also a feminist. Through her music and videos, Madonna in her sleek figure celebrated women’s sexuality, rather than oppressing it and became a leader of the Third Wave of Feminism, which seeks to contest and remove the ‘essentialist’ definition of feminism.
Why is Madonna an mDhil diva?
A singer, song writer, actor, feminist, mother… these are just a few feathers on this diva’s hat. At 53, she doesn’t look her age, and continues to be on the go with her 12th studio album all set to release sometime this year. She has and still lives her life on her own terms, and lives well. A multi-tasker like many super women, we know, Madonna is a legend worth emulating. And that’s reason enough to call her a diva, an mDhil diva!
