Makiyo confesses to relationship

14 Dec – After their taxi scandal earlier this year, Taiwanese entertainer Makiyo finally confessed to her relationship with Takateru Tomoyori.

As reported on Groove Asia, at a recent interview, Makiyo, who talked about the taxi driver assault case, revealed that they only started dating after knowing each other for seven months.

She revealed, "I was actually keeping the relationship a secret at the time. I was surprised when Tomoyori publicly announced it."

The 28-year-old, who has since broke up with him, stated that Tomoyori was so deeply in love with her to the extent that he was willing to take the blame on her behalf.

"But we're just good friends now. Occasionally we send messages to each other but that's about it," Makiyo stated.

In February this year, Makiyo was faced with an assault charge after it was reported that she and her then boyfriend, Takateru Tomoyori, assaulted a 55-year-old taxi driver, claiming that the latter tried to harass Makiyo. Meanwhile, witnesses at the scene revealed that no such thing happened and that the couple were drunk during the incident.

During the interview, Makiyo also expressed the pressure she faced from the public over these ten months. The artiste claimed that she was unable to leave her house and isolated herself in her room.

Although the incident left an immediate impact on her career, Makiyo is ready to make her comeback.
