"Masterchef China" to debut end of July

13 July - After bringing in popular television shows such as "China's Got Talent" and "The Cube" into Mainland China, Dragon TV will next introduce another popular reality show to Chinese viewers - "Masterchef China".

"Masterchef" is a popular television cooking game show created by Franc Roddam that originated in BBC UK back in 1990. Since then, it has become a franchise, with more than 35 countries worldwide producing its own version of the show to date, with "Masterchef Australia" being the most successful.

Earlier this year, auditions for "Masterchef China" have been held by Dragon TV in almost every province in China. The audition rounds are to narrow down the contestants to the top 60, where they will then face a series of challenges in the show.

According to the Chinese media, Taiwanese singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee, famous Chinese host Cao Ke-Fan and executive chef of Fairmont Beijing Hotel will be the judges of the show.

"Masterchef China" will air on Dragon TV on 29 July.
