Masuda Takahisa to hug Olympic gold medalist

4 Sept - Japanese boy band News member Masuda Takahisa hugged a Japanese female wrestler, as a promise to her for winning the gold medal at the recent Olympic Games in London.

According to Tokyo Hive, Olympic wrestler Yoshida Saori, who is an avid fan of Masuda, had requested a hug from her idol on NTV's music programme "1ban Song SHOW" on 25 July, before the games.

Masuda agreed to hug her on the condition that she won the gold medal, which Yoshida won for the 55kg freestyle wrestling.

After returning to Japan, Yoshida was invited to a room in the studio for a meeting and was screaming with excitement when she was surprised by Masuda, who entered the room and hugged her.

The hug would be broadcast on the 29 August episode of the show.
