Max Zhang emotional over his first award victory

14 Apr – Winning the Best Supporting Actor award for the first time, Chinese actor Max Zhang expressed his utmost happiness to have be given a chance to experience such recognition.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor was accompanied by his wife, Hong Kong actress Ada Choi at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards held yesterday and was extremely emotional as he thanked director Wong Kar Wai, as well as the lead stars Zhang Ziyi and Tony Leung, for the opportunity that was given to him that enabled him to win the accolade.

In regards to his wife Max said, "Some said that I would depend on her (Ada Choi) for the rest of my life. In a way, yes, my life's happiness depends on her."

"There was a time that I was so fed-up that I asked myself, what's the use if only Ada appreciates me in this world? But on our wedding, we have promised to go through everything together and from now on, we will spend our life together, for richer or poorer," he added.

The actor, who also accepted the Best Action Choreography on Yuen Woo Ping's behalf, made a tribute to one of the movie's stuntman, Ju Kun, who was one of the missing person of the Malaysian flight MH370, saying, "Ju Kun, a part of this award belongs to you. Please come back soon!"
