Mr.Children to sing for drama

10 June – Recently, it has been announced that Mr.Children will be releasing a new single, although its title and release date have yet to be decided, but what is definite is that it will be the theme song for Inoue Mao's new drama titled "Tokkan Tokubetsu Kokuzei Choushukan", according to Tokyo Hive.

For the band, this will be the first time in two years to provide their songs for drama after their rousing ballad "HANABI" for Fuji T drama "Code Blue 2nd Season" (2010).

For Inoue, it is a lifetime honour.

"It was one of my dreams that my drama's theme song would be provided by Mr.Children, so I am so happy."

She added, "I am already looking forward it, and it seems their theme song will add the profoundness, pain, and hope to this story about the mental conflict and growth of the protagonist. We, the drama team, will do our best all together, so that we produce a synergistic effect with their song."

Inoue will star as Suzumiya Miki, a rookie tax collector who is recruited for Tokyo Tax Administration Bureau. However, her positive outlook on life is tarnished as she deals with more and more cases as well as her cold-blooded supervisor Kagami Masachika (Kitamura Yukiya), who is as referred to as the God of Death as Suzumiya belongs to a division called "Special Tax Collector (Tokkan)", which only takes charge of wicked cases.

The drama will be directed by Mizuta Nobuo, who's known for his works "Maiko haaaan!!!" and "Naku Monka". It will begin airing on 4 July, every Wednesday at 10pm.
