25 Aug - The rumours on director Wong Jing making a new sequel for "God Of Gamblers" have been going around the Asian movie scene recently and the Hong Kong filmmaker has finally decided to pair "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" star Chow Yun Fat with "The Viral Factor" actor Nicholas Tse in his upcoming production, according to Yes Entertainment.

"I'm planning to shoot a new movie that sees the collaboration between Chow and Tse, but I won't be calling the film "God Of Gamblers 4". The movie will illustrate an inspiring crime story. Even though the setting will be in Macau, the main focus will not be on gambling," Wong admitted.

He added, "We are bringing the movie to China, so we try not to focus too much on gambling, something that really provokes the Chinese censorship board."

23 years ago, Andy Lau made a remarkable performance as Little Knife in "God Of Gamblers", which grossed over HK$37 million at the box office, alongside Chow Yun Fat who played Ko Chun, a genius gambler who lost his memory after falling down from a hill. Nevertheless, as people are looking forward to see Lau reprising his role, Wong came up with a different idea instead as he preferred Tse to take over the character based on his good-looking image, acting skills and most importantly, the award-winning actor's past experiences in filming crime movies as Wong's film will be emphasizing on the general breaching of laws rather than gambling.

Wong's announcement has been attracting rampant discussions on the Internet with some fans even commenting; "Although Nicholas is good, there's only one God Of Gambler, and he is Andy Lau!"

The first "God Of Gamblers" was released in 1989 and had grossed over HK37 million at the domestic box office.
