Quan Yifeng fined and banned from driving

24 Apr – Singapore-based TV personality, Quan Yifeng, who pleaded guilty to inconsiderate driving under the Road Traffic Act, has been fined for her offence and banned from driving.

As reported on Today Online, on 23 April, 40-year-old Quan, who knocked down a pedestrian last year, was asked to pay a fine of SGD 800 and banned from driving for three months.

In the incident that occurred on 2 July 2013 at 11am, the "Life Transformers 2" host knocked down 28-year-old Raman Selvaraj at the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Selegie Road while turning into Sungei Road, despite the fact that the green light on the pedestrian crossing was on.

In her defence, the Taiwan-born actress stated that she did not notice the pedestrian as she had taken cue from a vehicle which was turning in front of her, and had helped and waited with the victim until the ambulance arrived.

She also reportedly offered Mr. Selvaraj a compensation of SGD 1,260 and promised to take care of his medical bills.

However, this is not the first time Quan was involved in a controversy. In 1996, Quan was fined SGD 1,000 after a fight with a bowling alley assistant. In 2010, she was accused of abusing a taxi driver and charged with two counts of mischief and one count of using criminal force.
