Raymond Cho suffered from depression

20 Dec – After his brilliant performance as an intelligent eunuch in "The Confidant", all eyes are on TVB actor Raymond Cho, which led him to reveal a secret: he had suffered from severe depression, and even considered suicide in 2010.

Jayne Stars reported that after the slump in his career due to his marriage, the overwhelming mental stress led him to fall into severe depression. His wife Elaine noticed the change in his behaviour, but could not do anything except remain by his side and provided support.

In 2010, his battle with depression came to the point where he considered ending his life by crashing his vehicle into a mountain. He decided to seek help from a psychiatrist.

However, Raymond did not want to depend on medication for the rest of his life. He met a Buddhist monk, who advised him to "Open your heart and accept your fate. Don't ask for the impossible and let go of your anger."

Raymond said, "When I took the responsibility to become a good husband and father, my life started to change."

The 47-year-old actor was grateful for Wayne Lai, Raymond Wong, Power Chan, and Edwin Siu's support during the filming of "The Confidant".

"The five of us are like brothers. This is the best filming experience that I have ever had. I believe if one works hard, good results will await."

Raymond married John Chiang's eldest daughter, Elaine, and the couple have two children together, Brandon and Erin.
