Ronald Cheng plans to establish a production company

3 Aug – Hong Kong actor Ronald Cheng recently revealed that he has plans to establish a new production studio next year, Mingpao News reported.

Speaking to the media at the celebratory party of his new film "The Seventh Lie" which won two international awards recently, Ronald said that he planned to open up a new company that would make all kinds of small budget films.

"With the new company, I plan to produce all kinds of movies. But I am also interested to make small budget films that are not too commercialised," he said. "I hope to give new directors the opportunity to make their own films."

However, Ronald said that he had no plans to sign any artiste for the time being.

Meanwhile, the actor also expressed his delight with the success of "The Seventh Lie", directed by new director James Hung and co-starring Anjaylia Chan, Evelyn Choi and Alex Lam.

Despite being a small budget film, Ronald said that he took the offer as a favour as he thought that it had a promising plot.

"I play a man who specialises in catching people who commits infidelity but unexpectedly caught my own wife. It's fun, since it's different from my own real life," he said.
