Ronald Cheng's first production will focus on Hong Kong market

17 Nov – Actor-turned-director Ronald Cheng recently joked that he is the example of how not to start a business.

According to a report on HK Top Ten News, the actor, who attended a comic and animation expo recently, shared that he started a production company in Taiwan that eventually made him loose more than HKD 3 million.

Not giving up on his dream, Ronald then tried establishing a film company yet again, this time with fellow actor Tin Kai Man. However, their first movie together stars Chapman To, who has been boycotted in mainland China.

However, when asked if he is worried about not making any profit via the mainland market, Ronald said that the company's current focus is in making pure Hong Kong films, thus he will not worry about the mainland market for the time being.

"My wife is also due to give birth in February, so I hope to stay in Hong Kong until the time comes," he said.
