Rookie Matthew Ho hopes to be famous in five years time

4 Jun – Slowly gaining popularity through his performance as the teenage version of Lawrence Ng's character in "Never Dance Alone", rookie actor Matthew Ho is hoping that he will be recognised by the public in a few years time.

As reported on Singtao, the ambitious actor, who named Bosco Wong as his role model, said that his goal is to be recognised by the public in five years' time and to be given lead roles in ten.

"I think Bosco's acting talent is great," said the 25-year-old actor about his idol. "He is able to portray various roles whether it's a drama or comedy."

"When we collaborated in "The Ultimate Addiction", he was given a very long script and it was difficult to memorise. But he was able to do it and I was extremely impressed," said the actor.

When asked how he got the role in Eric Tsang's "Never Dance Alone", Matthew recalled that the whole audition process was confusing for him at the time.

"There were so many experienced actors in the dressing room and I was the only student from acting class. I didn't know what to do. But when I was called to the VIP room where Eric Tsang, Lawrence Ng, the seven female lead stars and the producer were, Lawrence told me to treat him to dinner. I realised then that he was the one who nominated me for the role," said Matthew.

The actor also complimented his co-stars, especially the actresses playing the younger version of the lead characters for their energy and enthusiasm, saying that they helped create an energetic atmosphere while filming.
