Roy Chow's plea for bail rejected

8 Oct – A court in Tuen Mun has recently denied Roy Chow's plea for bail, following his arrest for criminal intimidation.

As reported on Mingpao News, the judge has rejected a plea of bail of HKD 30,000 (USD 3,868) in cash and HKD 20,000 (USD 2,579) in guarantee, saying that the actor is suffering from mental issues.

The judge stressed that Roy, who threatened his wife, singer Yu Chiu, and children, and attempted suicide in late September, has continued to harass his wife despite being under probation.

The court also stated that no one should send threats to anyone, especially to children, regardless of the reason.

Roy will continue his detention and will go to court again on 10 October.

Meanwhile, when asked to comment about the new development, Yu Chiu replied through her manager, "I will continue to pray for him. I hope he will continue to work hard to start anew."
