Royston Tan's graduation is biggest achievement

27 Jun - Singapore filmmaker Royston Tan said he is not an academic-inclined student. It's all about the spirit of Singapore's national anthem "Majulah Singapura" which made him move forward and finally allowed him to graduate from a local polytechnic.

Royston is reportedly involved in the Singapore National Day Parade this year. He will be featured with 5, 000 people singing the national anthem during the last performance of the parade named "One Heart, One Voice."

Talking about his academic performance when he was young, he emphasised that he is not an academic-inclined student. He considered his graduation from Temasek Polytechnic with a diploma in Visual Communications as the biggest achievement in his life so far.

Royston considered himself as a lucky man because he gained a lot of opportunities whether in Singapore or outside the country.

He said he had seen some people faced a lot of obstacles in pursuing their dream, but the most important thing is, they never let go and neither give up. He believed that is the spirit of "Majulah Singapore".
