Sammi Cheng has decided to not have children

19 Aug – Turning 42 today, Hong Kong singer-actress Sammi Cheng recently admitted that she has no plans to have a baby with long-time boyfriend, Andy Hui.

As reported on Singtao Daily, Sammi, who attended the promotional event of her latest film, "Temporary Family" with co-star Nick Cheung in Beijing on 18 August, said, "I am very certain [about not having children]. Each person's choice is different and not having one is a choice."

The actress said that she knows what suits her personality and being pregnant is not it, adding, "Taking care of a child requires heart and determination. The world now is not as simple as before. We are lacking in resources and the food and air quality is already poor."

"Moreover, I don't think I have a say in that, as things like this are destined by God. But Andy and I already have an understanding about this," she said.

However, Sammi would not reject the idea of adopting an orphan.

"Instead of having one, I might as well adopt children that nobody wants. I think that type of love is even greater," she said, and complimented Irene Wan and Angie Cheong, who both opted for adoption.
