Sammy Shum encourages Raymond Lam's departure

10 Aug – Hong Kong actor Sammy Shum believes that Raymond Lam has made the right choice by leaving TVB after 16 years of career with the company, On CC reported.

Speaking to the media at the filming of his promotional clip of an upcoming series in Central, Sammy said that the actor had discussed his intention with him before, saying that he wants to try something different with his career.

"It's a cycle. First, there was Gallen Lo, then Louis Koo left and now it's Raymond Lam's time. For me, that's considered a good thing," said Sammy.

Asked if he was worried about promoting their new series "Line Walker" as the lead actor, Sammy said that there are a few main leads in the series and that they will promote it together.

The actor also denied that TVB are lacking in newcomers to take the spots emptied by actors, such as Kenneth Ma and Ruco Chan who will be placed forward, now that the golden stars are slowly leaving the company.

"I am right now filming a new series "Crossing the Finish Line" and it has a lot of new actors in it. For me as a viewer, I want to see more fresh faces on TV," he said.
