Samsung joins Big Bang for "Alive"

8 July – It was revealed that multinational conglomerate Samsung will be collaborating with YG Entertainment to provide fans with a better Big Bang concert experience.

According to Allkpop, starting with their upcoming concert in Shanghai on 21 July, their world tour has been renamed to "Big Bang Alive Galaxy Tour 2012" in celebration of Big Bang and Samsung's collaboration.

It was revealed that Samsung decided to work with the group as the electronics giant deemed the concert to be a good opportunity to nurture the Korean Wave and for them to appeal to a younger market.

They revealed, "This is not a typical one-time sponsorship, we will be sponsoring the world tour for a long term and establish a new culture code that helps enrich the lives of customers through the meeting of Big Bang and Samsung's Galaxy."

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment is ecstatic about the collaboration, saying, "We are very glad to be holding the world tour with Samsung Electronics, who has provided a solid foundation for the spread of the Korean Wave and brought Korea's name to places all over the world."

Big Bang is set to visit several other countries and continents this year including China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the United States, Peru and Brazil.
