Shinhwa Members Talk About Their Dating Styles
We’ve all daydreamed about it, but what would it really be like to date one of the Shinhwa members?
Shinhwa was the guest on the May 3 broadcast of Mnet’s Beatles Code 2, where the members talked about their respective dating styles.
When MC Jang Dong Min asked the members how they would react if their girlfriend called and said, “It’s an unnie’s (older sister) birthday today, and we’re going to the club” Andy responded, “[I would say] Okay, go.”
The MCs then added, “[What if she says] But there will be guys at the club” to which Andy answered, “[I would say] How long are you going to be out? And if she says, ‘Until one’ then [I would say] ‘Oh, okay.’”
The MCs pushed the topic even further, asking how he would react if his girlfriend said “We’re going to meet guys four on four” to which Andy said, “[Then I’d say] Are you crazy?”
Eric then jumped in and said, “I don’t think it’s necessarily bad, the fact that she asks.” He continued, “Because she’s asking in order to decide what to do after hearing my opinion. She could just not say anything, so her asking [isn’t a bad thing].”
“Whatever she does, as long she asks for my permission, I think I’d be okay,” Eric added. The member then said to the surprise of the MCs, “Even if she goes on the four on four meeting, I think I would just think ‘She has her reasons.’”
Kim Dong Wan added, “I think Eric is more American in that sense.”
Member Shin Hye Sung “Contrary to what most people seem to think—that I’d be really romantic—I’m actually pretty standoffish,” before Andy added, “He’s very manly.”
And although the balladeer looks like he’d being singing sweet nothings into his girlfriend’s ear all the time, Shin Hye Sung admitted he’s only done it a handful of times.
Jun Jin then shared, “In the past, my girlfriend asked me to sing for her before she fell asleep, so I did, but there was no reaction. She had fallen asleep. Because of that, we got into a huge fight,” causing the MCs and his fellow members to burst into laughter.
Kim Dong Wan said of his dating style, “I’m the type to be friends with the person before dating her. I try to get to know her a little first.”
Shin Hye Sung said that he is similar to Kim Dong Wan in that sense and tries to get to know the woman before seriously dating her, while Eric said he′s the type to dive right into a relationship.
